Progression Talks: Building Effective Teams
CWare Technologies recently hosted a Progression Talks session with Saad Habib, centered around a simple but powerful idea — great teams don’t just happen, they are built intentionally.
One key takeaway came from an activity: individual errors went as high as 163%, but as a team, the overall error reduced to around 33%, reinforcing that teams don’t eliminate mistakes, they reduce them collectively.
Key Highlights
- Effective Teams: Built on clear goals, defined roles, trust, psychological safety, and inclusivity
- RACI Framework: Clarifies responsibility (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) for better execution
- Communication Matrix: Defines who communicates what, when, and how — reducing confusion
- 7 C’s of Communication: Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete, Courteous
- Tuckman’s Model: Forming → Storming → Norming → Performing → Adjourning
- Problem-Solving Approach: Problem → Understand → Verify → Solve
- Effective Meetings: Right stakeholders, clear agenda, focused discussions
- Handling Challenges: Use knowledge bases, document lessons learned, and build SOPs
Conclusion
The session reinforced a simple idea:
strong teams are built through structure, communication, and collaboration — and that’s what drives better results.
